Faster ? lol , I do it because I like the simplicity of it.  A clean look, I only want to see what I am working on, I don't need to be entertained by picture behind what I am working on. And when I'm not using my machine, or if I don't touch it for 3 minutes, the screens off, ( dims first ) so I don't need a  " screensaver " to be burning while I'm not there.
